A Journey Continued

Twisted and torn

Mangled and soiled

Tired and worn

Courage recoiled

This middle age

My survivor’s guilt

Comfortable cage

Wild youth built

Beginning the end?

Finding second wind

How to pretend?

Joy to live

Lessons learned

Some with regret

Grand bridges burned

Many an unpaid debt

Puzzle in progress

Each piece a match

A life not less

Future needs past

Grateful not alone

My journey companions

Help me atone

Inspiring actions

Unable simply to lie

Face not low

Will not quietly die

Onwards I go

Doomsday come

Fate I will meet

Continuing to run

On my two feet
