The first review of my book Lords of Eis is in, and it is good. They gave it 5 Stars:
“Some books are just meant for sitting back, relaxing, and escaping into another world. “The Lords of Eis” is that kind of book. The author has cleverly crafted a world similar to the one we know, but with enough variations to pique our interest and imagination.
I will admit that this is not my usual genre for reading, but the author’s meticulous descriptions of time, place, and dress slowly drew me into his story of the Disinherited Knight and a world of knightly tournaments, family feuds and wars that seem to have no end. Not unlike our world of today, the world of Eis reminds us that the more people change, in many ways they stay the same. However, the courtly rituals, elaborate dress, and knightly honor remind us of attributes today’s world lacks.
One of my favorite characters is the Jester who always seems to make that one comment that hits on the crux of an issue. He is the cynical observer of human foibles who reminds the reader to beware – the plot is thickening. As the narrative progresses, I found myself engrossed in the twists and turns of characters who didn’t always play their roles in the usual way. In this respect, the author is a great storyteller whose first novel in a promised series of Chronicles offers readers an escape from the dystopian landscape of the 21st century.”
